This my favorite Wild Planet seafood product though all of their products are of great quality! If I could afford it, I would fill up my pantry with these! It costs more than their pink salmon but sockeye, also called red salmon has better taste and omega-3 composition so the extra price is worth it diet-wise. One BPA-free free package has enough for two servings.
Wild sockeye salmon is an oilier fish with deep red flesh, high in heart-healthy omega-3s .. it has a stronger flavor. It is considered low in mercury, making it one of the safest fish to eat other than anchovies and sardines. It’s tasty and amount good. My little gal loves it. She eat straight from the can as part of her meal! Worth the buy!
Between this and the wild pink salmon, this is the better version. It has salt but not enough to taste. You have to add salt, lemon juice if you don't want it to be too dry.. otherwise I liked it. There is no aftertaste like so many canned fish food. The can is non-bpa, which is important. The price could always be better, but it is still cheaper than what I can get locally, for smoked salmon for example. I'm not sure if I will get more canned salmon, but if I do, this one will be the one I choose to get. Definitely try it for yourself.
The taste of wild sockeye is so full of flavour that it definitely differentiates itself from other types of salmon. The meat is tender, juicy and aromatic. None of that fishy smell you can sometimes find in other brands. The price is reasonable for the quality.
very good taste! now i understand the wild salmon hype train. the taste is 10x better than pink salmon. its a treat to eat once or twice a month at this price but ill take it
This Sockeye Salmon is one of the best I have ever tasted. The freshness is there for all to taste, goes great on a fresh sanger with a wee bit of onion, lettuce, dash of lemon & salt/pepper.
I regularly order these tins of salmon. The taste and quality is excellent, and all my family like it as the filling in sandwiches. The price is also very good, when compared to where I live (Hong Kong).
Absolutely delicious. Better than expected. Plus, sockeye salmon is the best there is. Do some research and confirm. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 so that prising won't go up. Enjoy!
For those considering purchasing this product, please be informed that these densely packed cans of wild salmon will not disappoint. Comprising all natural ingredients (pink salmon and salt), this item contains little water, and those who are canned salmon aficionados already know that this product is nutritious and very flavorful. Yes, there are a few bones and meager amounts of skin, both of which are edible, and those averse to these should contemplate another brand. The pricing is comparable to that of other canned salmon brands - as well as those sold in supermarkets. And its versatility as an ingredient in numerous recipes practically render this product as an indispensable one in the kitchen. In short, purchasing this product is highly recommended.
