Great impression from this product! Use it for drinks & baking! The main essence of this powder - it is a substitute for chocolate & cocoa, which doesn't contain caffeine & contains much less fat. I would say, taste is not much similar to cocoa/chocolate, it has an interesting nutty-coffee- like taste & flavor. This is OK, as carob belongs to legume family & cocoa to mallow family. I use it 50%/50% for cacao/carob drink to reduce caffeine content in a cup, which results also in unusual interesting taste. Just try it to have your own impression😊. Another fave drink is banana + carob + cinnamon smoothie. It's so delicious. Perfect in the morning, as carob is packed with essential nutrients: calcium, zinc, magnesium; some B vitamins, polyphenol antioxidants. I use it for baking healthy cookies with whole grain flour. Origin of this carob is United States. Friends❤️, I sincerely recommend this product based on my experience. If this review was helpful/informative for you, please click 👍! Enjoy & thanks🙏!
I love this stuff, it’s not bitter like cocoa is. It has a really rich chocolate flavour. I can have a hot cup of this instead of chocolate whenever I have a craving for chocolate and with fewer calories. It’s great to use in cooking as well. It is of excellent quality, it’s really rich.
I have tried several carob powders that were not bad, however after trying Frontier Carob I am set and need no further searching! Frontier delivers every time, from their Nutritional Yeast, Cinnamon, Carob and al the spices. I have grown accustomed to only selecting Frontier products for other things and this is added to my list!
We bought this product out of curiosity, and we can truly say that we had no expectations; we were not thinking that it would taste like cocoa or chocolate. And we were right: this product does not taste like chocolate. If you're expecting chocolate, you'll likely be disappointed. That said, this carob is really good! We have used this carob in banana-date and almond-date smoothies, in plain yogurt with honey, and sweetened almond milk to name a few. All of these have been incredibly delicious. At this point, we're planning on making a crumble, as well as some truffle like confections. A huge bonus for us is that carob doesn’t have caffeine or other psychoactive properties. Carob is fast becoming a staple in this household. In summary, we highly recommend this product! Enjoy it for what it is!
I have been diagnosed with microscopic colitis and was advised by a friend who suffers numerous ailments to try the carob powder. Said this is use for aip protocol. After just a few days of taking it as a beverage before every meal, I can honestly say it has worked amazingly well. After 3+ months of runny stools, it has regulated my system to where I can even add a few 'naughties' to my diet and not have to ensure I know where a toilet is when venturing away from home. It does tend to work best when I add about half a teaspoon of honey. This makes sense as honey is an antibacterial natural product. It is still very early days for me but I do not leave home without a packet in my bag!
I have used Frontier Coop Carob Powder for YEARS to make my homemade, sugar free chocolates (great with Now Cocoa butter & powdered Erythritol/stevia combo)! But recently I found a new use for it by adding it to my herbal coffee...balances it and gives it a mild sweetness! I don't make chocolates often so I've kept it in the pantry for up to 2 years with no noticable difference in flavor.
I'm glad to say this carob is exactly what I was looking for. The roast is medium and just right for my taste. It is unfortunate that carob is sold as a cocoa substitute. That's like calling a mango a peach substitute. They can both be enjoyed on their own. Carob is delicious and need not be compared to anything.
Usually people compare carob to chocolate, I suggest you appreciate this for being its own unique thing. It has a rich, full bodied taste and so many uses. Dissolve in hot water, add a bit of milk of your choice, and it's perfect. Because carob is naturally sweet it doesn't even need sugar. Add a bit to coffee or tea for extra sweetness and flavor. Bake or cook with it. The packaging isn't the best. I suggest transferring to a Mason Jar. Use in natural beauty products... Excellent quality. Very reasonable price. Delicious.
