Rewarded Review

I was taking this product at the dosing provided on the package (1 capsule every 12 hrs.) for three months and another product by Now, that used plant sterols to control my cholesterol (2 capsules before each meal). The Stytrinol was to control LDL being produced by the liver by lowering apolipoprotein B production, and the plant sterols were to help inhibit absorption of cholesterol going across the gut from diet (my diet isn't outrageous, and I'm not overweight)(I haven't always had high cholesterol, but over a certain age everyone gets it in my family...so its a genetic thing). All that I can say is my approach failed with no change in cholesterol. Clinical studies claimed a 20% reduction in total cholesterol over 4 weeks (after I read the literature), from just taking the Sytrinol (I made sure to get a company I found reputable who made this stuff via. GMPs, so I knew I wasn't getting sugar pills conveniently sold) which obviously didn't happen in my case. My cholesterol scores before taking the product were: total 239, LDL 170, HDL 53, ratio LDL/HDL 4.6. Cholesterol scores after taking it (3 months) were: total 226, LDL 151, HDL 51, ratio LDL/HDL 4.4. So there maybe some MINOR change, but unless you are parked with a ratio below 4.0 you could be in trouble over the long term. Total cholesterol should also be below 200 (mine wasn't). Sadly, its statin time and that means I will have to take CO-Q10 supplementation since statins are like sledgehammers. Red rice yeast, functions as a statin, so you aren't escaping statins if you take that. It will work, but that's why it works & there is a mold that can come along for the ride if it is manufactured poorly (so I'm likely to take some drug companies' friggin statins). :( No hope...as there is no way to read how oxidized or reduced my cholesterol is in my body (how convenient blood tests don't tell you that...if they did, I might not be so worried about plaques forming in my arterites). Crazy... I guess I will be a lipitor slave.
